Miakomo Answers Your COVID-19 Questions

Due to current events relating to COVID-19, many of our standard items are currently out of stock as a result of high demand. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold or notify customers when out of stock items have been restocked or provide pre-orders.

You may sign-up for email notifications to become aware when your desired product is back in stock. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Most orders placed at miakomo.com are fulfilled within one to two business days after the order has been placed and shipped via Priority US Shipping takes approx. 2-4 business days. Once your package has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking ID. 

(International customers: Please note that you are responsible for all duties/taxes/fees with regard to import into your country.)

We strive to fulfill orders as quickly as possible to get your items out to you in a timely manner. With that, the chances of changing an order are unlikely. You are welcome to reach out and we will strive to accommodate.

On March 11th, 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic. WHO defines a pandemic as a global spread of a new disease. Due to concerns about hygiene and the safety of our customers and employees, we will NOT be accepting any returns, except in the case of manufacturer defects.

After the COVID-19 pandemic is declared to be over by WHO, we will review our return policy and continue to act in the best interest of our customers and employees. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

At Miakomo, we are proud to provide our customers with the best quality products! We guarantee any product sold by us or any of our authorized resellers to be free of manufacturing defects. If you would like to verify a dealer is authorized, please contact our customer service team. If you believe you have received a defective item, please contact our customer service team immediately by email or phone.

You can find the contact information below. If contacted within 90 days of the original order date, we will review the defect and provide either a replacement or refund depending on your preference and item availability. A defective item can be replaced by the same item or an item of the same price level. In the case of a refund, the order must have been placed directly with Miakomo. If the item was purchased through one of our authorized resellers, a refund through that seller may be possible depending on their individual return policy.

Our company and great patrons that have contributed through our “Give-a-Mask” program have donated hundreds of Aspen Air masks and filter refills to the underserved organizations/municipalities of our nation and will continue to do so.

General Questions

All of our products are manufactured in the U.S.A. out of our manufactuering facilities in Utah.

Currently, the Aspen Air, Aspen Air Pro and BFE 98 filters do not have a NIOSH certification.

Yes

Currently, the Aspen Air, Aspen Air Pro, and BFE 98 filters are not OSHA compliant as they do not have the FDA/NIOSH rating. At this time, there is no OSHA standard for Dentistry

Due to a global N95 shortage, these masks are incredibly hard to source and counterfeits on the market are common. Here are the CDC's recommendations on how to spot counterfeits: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/usernotices/counterfeitResp.html

Mask Questions

The mask is made out of a very soft and pliable thermoplastic elastomer. It's very easy on the skin and is flexible and soft to the touch.

Yes. The mask can be reused over and over (with new filters) as long as proper sanitation procedures are followed to ensure any contaminants are removed after use.

Please refer to this document for instructions on cleaning, sanitizing, repairing, inspecting, and storing this URF. 

Yes, you may sanitize with disinfectant wipes if you have them. Soap and water, top rack of the dishwasher, and even autoclave provide proper sanitization as well.

If there are tears anywhere on the product, has missing straps or filter holders, no longer maintains its' shape, or any other visible damage, it should not be used.

It's designed for self-fit testing although this may be required by your employer, association, or other governing agency.

Place the mask over nose and mouth and secure with upper strap. Insert loose end of lower strap into the remaining hole and adjust as necessary. It should snuggly cup the chin with the top of the frame resting snug against the bridge of the nose.

When properly fitted and worn, minimal leakage occurs around the edges of the respirator frame where it seals to your face.
Seal should increase when you inhale with almost all the air directed through the filter media.
Upon exhalation, you should not feel air around the perimeter.

Ensure the bottom is cupping your chin and tighten straps producing an air tight seal.

Yes. The Aspen Air and Aspen Air Pro are great options for people who are allergic to Latex.

Filter Questions

The mask is versatile enough to work with any type of filter that can be cut to fit the mask. This makes it extremely useful for a number of medical, emergency, and household uses.

Yes. We are offer both BFE 98 and surgical grade replacement filters in addition to the Aspen Air Respirator Masks.

Since traditional N95 masks are made entirely of the filter material, our mask utilizes only a small portion of the actual filter, allowing you to cut out 5-6 additional filters from one standard N95 mask using our template. Here's a video tutorial on how to do it.

We can not provide guidance regarding how often to replace filters. Please refer to the CDC's current recommendations based on use case and your current supply on hand.
